Hayes Girls Help Bromley Win!

By Harri Kallas

Youth Games Success

Hayes were pleased to have 5 of the 8 girls in the winning Youth Games Bromley team this year!

The girls made the final 8 teams from a preliminary round, so getting a place to play at Lord’s Indoor School on Sunday March 3rd.

They were a slick, smart team showing athleticism all round.

Having won through the quarters by beating Hammersmith and Fulham who were champions last year, they faced Ealing who put them under pressure.

However, Ealing crumbled after 5 overs, when wickets fell and catches were taken and calm controlled runouts saw Bromley through to the finals.

We played Haringey, batting first as in all the games and got a typical score of about 11 an over in the 10 overs.

Our bowling then showed some anxious moments, but once again after 5 overs, the opposition crumbled; ‘catches win matches’ said team Manager Mike Askew!

Pictured here with their gold medals are the team from A – Z (literally: Analivia (Cpt), Eve, Jess, Krippa, Lucia, Rosie, Sophia and Zeena.
