The Club was sad to learn that Trevor, our former Secretary, 1973 - 1975, had been finally given out.
A true Northerner, Trevor played for Hayes in the 1960's & 70's, whilst working for the Yorkshire Bank and returned north upon his retirement.
A regular for the Sunday 2's side, he is pictured here in 1975.
Trevor was also Vice Captain of the 3rd XI in 1963 - 1967.
Chris Rogers speaks of travelling to the delightful Sussex town of Bolney for an all day game. Trevor, captain for the day and electing to bat, was looking forward to a long stay - only to fall victim to the first ball of the day. Trevor, realising at 11am that his day's cricket was now over, was not best amused!
Nick Beavis and Peter Ashworth have remained in contact with Trevor and he was last seen at the club in 2017, when he, his daughter and son attended Presidents Day.
Trevor also turned out for West Wickham Football Club - a path well trodden by Hayes cricketers.
We send our condolences to Trevor's family.
