Runs Galore on the Hayes Road

The penultimate weekend of the season saw Beckenham Merlins take on Hayes Legends.

Batting first, young Liam Buttery carried on in his quest to become the Hayes top scorer for not only the 2017 season but he now has the hierarchy searching back in the annals of Hayes history!

Liam graciously declared his innings on 101 and with Marc Wheatley (32), Rory Low (36) and Scott Gallagher (28) also contributing, Hayes ran up 263-6 in their 40 overs.

Beckenham lost only one wicket in their innings - Isabel Steet (7-2-23-1) taking the wicket - but they were never up with the run rate and their innings came to a close on 172.

So will Liam get his 1500 runs for the season? Will he be Hayes top scorer in our 189 year history?

All will be revealed in next week's final Weekend Wrap ... or not![/b]
