The 1st XI travelled to Linden Park and with the weather looking wet, expectations were for another rain effected match - however a short delay, limiting the match to 46 overs a side, was the only problem.
Hayes were invited to bat first and looking to build on the points scored last week against Bromley, started positively.
All the batsmen got into double figures and with Grant Sheen (31), Beau Couldrey (38), James Bamber (27), Joel Couldrey (21) able supporting a fine knock off 48 from Liam Buttery, Hayes amassed a creditable 230-7 at close.
Stuart Eddicott (6-1-13-4) removed one fo the openers with the first ball of the innings and that set the tone for a scintillating performance in the field - Jacob Marlow (6-0-25-3) also took wickets and the Linden reply was soon in tatters and they were bowled out for 95 in the 25th over.
An excellent win!
The 2nd XI started their Premiership campaign against Blackheath and invited the visitors to bat first.
With Ashley Quayle donning the whites for the first time in a few years, it was a blend of youth and experience that took the field for Hayes.
Tom Davis (10-0-41-4) hit form straight away and with Ashley (9.3-2-35-3) also showing he has lost none of his talent, Hayes bowled the opposition out for 174.
Alfie Peck (5-0-18-2) and Dammika Silva (10-2-28-2) also taking crucial wickets.
Skipper Sam Davis(88*) and young Alfie (6) got the innings off to a steady start and with Martin Pratt (16), Adam Greenway (11) and Leo Webster (10) all chipping in, it was crucial that Sam marshalled the batting and carry Hayes home.
To a great cheer from the supporters - including Sam's Mother, Wife and Brother - he finished with a red-inker and a great captains innings saw the campaign start with a fine win.
The 3's also began their season in the Kent Regional Premiership, hosting Wickham Park.
Batting first in a 35 over game, skipper Jewel(21) and Muzzammal Salman (27) got the innings off to a good start - with wickets steadily falling it was left to Nazir Ahmed (20*) to bring in runs at the end and set a competitive total of 138.
Md Belal (7.5-3-26-2), Maruf Hasan (8-3-26-1) and Shoyeb Rahman (8-2-21-3) bowled good accurate spells and the game came down to the final over - and final wicket!
Unfortunately for Hayes, the penultimate ball was despatched to the boundary and a tight game was lost. However with Wickham being a regular Premier league side, it shows our 3's should have a good season.
